Suji is also known as Rava or Semolina, when made sweet, suji is also known as sheera. It is also a part of the European cuisine, it is served as semolina pudding. It was first brought into India by the Arabs and was adopted as a number of Indian varieties. suji has now become a part the Indian cuisine.
To bring out the best flavors Suji is paired with kesser/saffron or coconut. It is served as a breakfast or a dessert item. Although the normal variety of suji halwa is unflavoured and prepared with just semolina, sugar, ghee, and milk. As it is easy to prepare, it is often favored as a breakfast item, especially with pooris, in other parts of India.
